Summer Outdoors Day & Overnight Camps

Research. Record. Respond.  This camp introduces campers to biological field survey skills used in forest management.  Participants will set up a field research base camp and hike through different ecosystems to collect information about the animals, plants, and water habitats that need protection. Campers will enjoy a night together under the stars with an overnight campout on the last night of camp!

Craft projects for both art and function this week while learning to safely use
traditional hand tools. Campers will design, build, and carve their own weeklong projects under the guidance of experienced woodworking and crafting mentors. Each day we'll introduce new skills and techniques. With ample time to sharpen their skills, campers will be on their way to becoming master woodworkers! 

Experience life as they do on “ALONE”! Campers will design and construct an entire base camp for wilderness living. We'll learn knot tying, carving, and construction techniques in order to create shelters, furniture, a kitchen, and more. Campers will forage for wild food while learning to identify edible plants. For the final night of the week, campers will put their work to the test with an overnight campout in their hand-built base camp!  

Unlock the secret powers of plants! From common weeds to forest dwellers, plants can offer remedies for a variety of ailments as well as provide for a unique menu! We'll forage in the forest to create wilderness-inspired dishes and build our own herbal first-aid kits. Projects will include herbal salves, teas, essences, wilderness cooking, and more!
